Mechanicsburg Christmas was one to remember

The 2015 Christmas in the Village was one of the best, and warmest, yet!

The Board of Our Towne Mechanicsburg (OTM) would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many individuals and organizations that worked hard to make this year’s festival a great success.

Our season started with our largest Christmas tree yet, donated by Elaine Riley of Mechanicsburg. We would like to thank Logan Class and Class Landscaping, Tami, Dave and David McGuire and Greg Kimball for their tremendous help preparing the site, moving and installing this year’s tree.

Christmas in the Village on December 12 was a success thanks in large part to the behind-the-scenes work by the following individuals: Chief Bob Keene and the entire Fire/EMS department staff, Chief John Alexander and the Mechanicsburg Police department, The American Legion Post 238, Russ Delay and Champion Feed & Pet, Kevin Neer and the FFA students, who served as elves to assist with Santa’s visit, Denny Dalton, our Girls Scouts Troop #32103, who hosted Mrs. Claus and decorated the Gazebo, Kris Campbell and the Elementary Student Council for the decorations on this year’s tree, Brad Oyer and the MHS Marching Band, and the Reynoldsburg Community Band.

We also want to thank all of the local businesses, churches and the Mechanicsburg Library, who opened their doors with CIV specials and activities throughout the day.

And finally, I want to extend a personal thanks to all those OTM Board members who put in many hours of planning this and every year to make Christmas in the Village such a wonderful annual event: Tina Johnson, Greg Kimball, Scott and Amy Blanton, Scott and DeAnn Salee, Nicolette Ledford, Jodi Compton, Elizabeth Smith, Dan Carter, Roweena Salvador, Paul and Grace Kurtz and Tammie Beers.

Our Towne Mechanicsburg has many exciting plans and ideas on the table for 2016, but we continue to need additional volunteers and donations to help do our part in making Mechanicsburg an exciting and vibrant place to live. If you would like to help, please send an email to:

Thanks and Happy New Year!
