The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce and local agribusinesses are developing the Champaign County Ag Association.
The association is looking for members interested in being a part of this new endeavor and to help guide it in the direction that best fits the community. The meetings have been scheduled 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The first meeting will be on March 4 in Conference Room B at the Champaign County Community Center, 1512 S. U.S. Route 68 in Urbana. The chamber will sponsor lunch. For more information and to place a reservation, contact Amanda Douridas at the Extension Office at 937-484-1526 or by email at Douridas.email@example.com.
This group is forming to address the need to bring leaders in the agriculture industry together with other types of chamber member businesses to support the community and highlight agriculture’s impact in Champaign County. The vision of the Ag Association is to foster and grow agriculture awareness through meetings and events so all businesses and community members have a greater understanding of the important role agriculture has in Champaign County’s community and economy.
