Mechanicsburg wins general livestock contest

On March 11, the Mechanicsburg FFA general livestock judging team competed at the Southeast Invite in Zanesville, Ohio. The general team placed first out of 34 teams. In individual placings, Elly Schipher placed first, Kirsten Lewis placed fifth, Miranda Lauchard placed eighth with Jake McDonald and Nate Violet following behind.

On March 12th, the general livestock and equine judging teams competed at the Fayette County contest in Washington Court House, Ohio. The general livestock team placed fourth out of 80 teams. Jake McDonald placed eighth, Kirstein Lewis placed fourteenth and Miranda Lauchard placed twenty-second. Also participating in the general livestock contest was Jaycie Patterson, Caleb Martin, Elly Schipher and Jenna Alspaugh. For the equine contest, the team of Kylie Owen, Justin Hunt, Wyat Woodburn and the participation of dairy judger Wyatt Snyder, placed 26th out of 62 teams. Kylie Owen placed 79th, Justin Hunt placed 122nd, Wyat Woodburn placed 140th and Wyatt Snyder placed 173rd.
